Kyaresta (Anastrazole 1 mg. | 28 tablets)

What is Kyaresta and what is used for?

Kyaresta is used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women. The medicine Kyaresta belongs to a group of medicines known as aromatase inhibitors. Aromatase inhibitors are active against certain effects of aromatase, an enzyme in the human body that controls the levels of certain female hormones, similar to estrogens.

Before you take Kyaresta

Do not take Kyaresta

• If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance anastrozole or any of the other ingredients of Kiaresta;
• If menopause has not occurred with you;
• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding;
• If you are a patient with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 20 ml / min);
• If you are a patient with moderate to severely impaired hepatic function.
• Take special care with Kiaresta
• When there is doubt about your hormone status. Menopause should be proven through hormonal research;
• If you have osteoporosis or risk of osteoporosis.

Your bone mineral density should be carefully examined both during treatment and at regular intervals, including by using the DEXA Scan Method (for measuring bone density).
Appropriate treatment or prophylaxis of osteoporosis should be initiated and monitored closely.

Taking other medicines

• Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
• Estrogen-containing medicines should not be given concomitantly with Kyaresta, as the tablet may reduce its pharmacological action.
• Tamoxifen should not be given concomitantly with Kirastas as this may reduce its pharmacological action.
• No data are available on the concomitant use of Kiresta with analogues of LHRH (Luteinizing Hormone – Rallying Hormone). This combination should not be used outside of clinical trials.

Take Kyaresta with food and drink

Kyaresta can be taken regardless of diet.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine. Kyaresta is contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women.

Driving and using machines

Kyaresta is unlikely to adversely affect the ability to drive or use machines. However, some people may occasionally feel dizzy or drowsy after taking Kyaresta and care should be taken if these symptoms occur when driving and using machines.

Important information about some of the ingredients in Kyaresta

Kyaresta contains lactose. Patients with pre-diagnosed intolerance to some sugars should consult their physician before taking the medicine.

How to take Kyaresta?

• Always take Kyaresta exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water. The product should be taken at the same time of day.

Adult patients:

The usual dose is one Kyaresta tablet (1 mg anastrozole) once a day. The duration of treatment should be 5 years for an early stage of the disease.

Renal impairment:

No dosage adjustment is required in patients with mild or moderate renal impairment.

Hepatic impairment:

No dosage adjustment is necessary in patients with mild hepatic impairment. If you need hospitalization, tell the doctor that you are taking Kyaresta. If you take more Kyaresta than you should call your doctor or go to the emergency room right away.

If you take too much

If you take more than the usual dose, ask your doctor. In case of overdosage, contact your nearest hospital immediately. If possible, take your film-coated tablets or box with you to show the doctor what you have taken,

If you forget to take Kyaresta

If you miss taking the medicine, take your dose when you remember and then take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for the forgotten dose. If you are worried, talk to your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

If you stop taking Kyaresta

Do not stop taking the tablets just because you felt better. It is important that you continue to take Kyaresta for as long as your doctor has specified.

Possible side effects

Like all medicines, Kyaresta can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

Very common side effects – affects 1 patient in 10:

• Infections of blood in the face, resulting in mild or moderate redness.

Common side effects – affects 1 to 10 patients in 100:

• Weakness, usually mild to moderate;
• Pain or stiffness, usually mild to moderate;
• Dryness in the vagina, usually mild to moderate;
• Mild to moderate balding;
• Light to moderate rash
• Nausea in mild or moderate form;
• Mild to moderate diarrhea;
• Mild to moderate headache;
• Inflammation of the tendons of the wrists (carpal tunnel syndrome);
• Enhancement of liver enzymes – alkaline phosphatase, ALT (alanine aminotransferase) and AST (aspartate aminotransferase).

Uncommon side effects: affects 1 to 10 patients in 1,000:

• Mild to moderate vaginal bleeding;
• Mild to moderate loss of appetite;
• Mild to moderate hypercholesterolaemia;
• Mild to moderate vomiting;
• Mild to moderate form of drowsiness;
• High levels of gamma-glutamyltransferase bilirubin;
• Hepatitis.

Rare side effects – affects 1 to 10 patients in 10,000:

• Extanthemum multiforme;
• Stevens-Johnson Syndrome;
• Allergic reactions including angioedema, urticaria and anaphylaxis.

How to store Kyaresta

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Do not use Kyaresta after the expiry date which is stated on the pack. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

The medicinal product should be stored below 30 ° C.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of your unnecessary medicines. These measures will help to protect the environment.

What Kyaresta contains 1 mg film-coated tablets:

• Each film-coated tablet contains anastrozole 1 mg as active ingredient.

The excipients are:

• Lactose monohydrate, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, macrogol 300, titanium dioxide.

What Kyaresta looks like and contents of the pack:

• Kyaresta are white and round film-coated tablets.
• 28 tablets are packed in blisters placed in a cardboard box.
